Animal Control and Spay & Neuter Program

Overview:

 

Animal Control through the Tribal Health Department is primarily responsible for the prevention of the spread of rabies and other zoonotic diseases from animals to people.  This is accomplished through the enforcement of the Community’s Domestic Animal Ordinance, education and control of the stray and unwanted companion animals throughout the Community.

 

Mission Statement:

 

To protect Community Members and their pet’s health, safety and welfare; to promote understanding and empathy between pet owners and non-pet owners.

 

Program Goals:

 

  • Promote program through community outreach and education.
  • Promote Spaying/Neutering of dogs and cats.
  • Promote animal owner responsibility.
  • Reduce the number of roaming and unwanted dogs within the Community.
